On Saturday, April 11th we will be hosting a panel at 5pm at Servicios De La Raza featuring “Voices from the Field," followed by a reception at 'Paxia' Mexican restaurant. Confirmed speakers include:
Polly Baca was Chair of the Democratic Caucus of the Colorado House of Representatives (1976–79), being the first woman to hold that office, and the first Hispanic woman elected to the Colorado State Senate and in the House and Senate of a state Legislature.
Dominick Moreno was elected in 2012 to represent House District 32, which includes Commerce City and parts of unincorporated Adams County. He serves as the Majority Assistant Caucus Chair and is Vice Chairman of the Transportation & Energy Committee.
Rosemary Rodriguez currently represents District 2 on the Denver Board of Education in Colorado, and was previously a council member on the Denver City Council. She also served as State Director on Senator Michael Bennet's campaign for U.S. Senate.
Joe Neguse currently serves on the University of Colorado Board of Regents, representing Colorado's 2nd Congressional District. Neguse is one of the youngest public officials in the state, and was presented the “Rising Star Award” by the Colorado Democratic Party in 2010.
The panel will provide participants with personal insight and on-the-ground experience of local and state campaigning, as well as personal testimony of life once in public office.
After the panel, we will host a reception with light appetizers and a cash-bar at "Paxia - Alta Cocina Mexicana" Restaurant, 4001 Tejon St, Denver, CO 80211.
